Nihar Gupta has been the Managing Director of the erstwhile SPG Group since 2015. With over two decades of experience in finance, trading, and assurance, Mr. Gupta brings significant value to the group's business. His proficiency in financial regulation, global engagement, and business acumen has been instrumental in driving the growth of the Group.
Under his leadership, the group has diversified from its core business of precious and base metals into various sectors, including paper and pulp products, agricultural commodities, minerals and metals, consumer products, infrastructure, and logistics. Mr. Gupta is passionate about contributing to India's agricultural development and envisions building a prominent food and agri-business across the country. He is currently driving the group's expansion into fintech, financial services, information technology, and AI.
With extensive global exposure, particularly in West, Central, and East Africa, Mr. Gupta plays a key role in establishing the company's global presence in Africa, South America, Canada, Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, and Southeast Asia. His vision to build a global company has been instrumental in driving the group's success on the international stage.
A qualified Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA) of India, Mr. Gupta holds a B.Com degree and an LLB degree.
